I am an independent arbitrator and mediator specializing in commercial and investment disputes. I have experience in cases brought under civil laws, common laws, and investment treaties arising particularly in the commercial, communications, construction, energy, investment, intellectual property, and transportation sectors.
I have a broad background in international dispute resolution. Apart from my practice as neutral, I am a law professor at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan and a member of the adjunct faculty of the White & Case International Arbitration LL.M. at the University of Miami. I previously practiced international arbitration in Paris as an attorney and was legal counsel at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank in Washington.
